About the District
Greetings, and welcome to the South Atlanta District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. You are invited to visit any of our churches and share in the worship services and the various ministries.
The African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church comprises twenty Episcopal Districts—thirteen in the United States, six in Africa, and one embracing the Caribbean, South America, and England. A Bishop is assigned by the General Conference to preside over each Episcopal District.
The State of Georgia is designated the Sixth Episcopal District. This District has six Annual Conferences and seventeen Presiding Elder Districts.
The South Atlanta District has twenty-four churches with twenty-four pastors, across Fulton, Clayton, Coweta, and Fayette counties. As we embark on the road to glory, let us remember that God is everything that we need Him to be.
“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
